A Georgia judge has ordered Fulton County to pay $10,000 per day for refusing to appoint Republican nominees to the county's election board. Democratic commissioners rejected two GOP candidates, violating the county charter requiring equal party representation. Judge David Emerson found the commissioners acted in "bad faith" and awarded attorney fees to the plaintiffs.
A federal judge has blocked Fulton County from immediately retrieving the 700 boxes of 2020 election ballots seized by the FBI last month. Instead of ruling on the county's lawsuit, the court ordered both sides into mediation with the Department of Justice.
